What I Do

Helping Small Businesses Stay Safe (and Compliant)

Most small businesses these days need to take care of their tech and make sure theirs and their customers’ data is secured.

I have helped dozens of businesses comply with local regulations and governing bodies’ requirements for licensing, insurance and financing.

Cybersecurity Audit

In IT and especially in cybersecurity, you cannot protect what you don’t know you have. I help my clients create complete and comprehensive inventories of all their digital properties, online (and offline) accounts, subscriptions and usage.

Security Awareness

After almost 30 years in the business, I have seen time and time again that the #1 vector of attack bad actos use is the human being, not the tech. I teach my clients how to detect “phishy” stuff and protect themselves, with real life scenarios.

IT Risk Assessment

In IT and especially in cybersecurity, you cannot protect what you don’t know you have. I help my clients create complete and comprehensive inventories of all their digital properties, online (and offline) accounts, subscriptions and usage.

IT Managed Services

Once everything is stabilized and working, it is important to keep it that way – and IT Managed Services is the response to that need. Proactive maintenance, predictable IT expenditure and access to quick and reliable support are the pillars to my Managed Services proposal.

Workshops and Corporate Training

There is nothing I love more than teaching IT (of course right after my wonderful family and a good burger), and my teaching technique has been proven quite successful: no tech-shaming, 100% customized and 1,000,000% full of patience and empathy. We are technology partners, and I empower you to the max.

IT Project Management

I rely on a super professional network of peers: programmers, cabling, security, designers, lawyers, accountants and many more. If you have a complex tech project you have neither the time nor the expertise to manage, I can definitely help you with that.

Technology Vendors Management

I can’t possibly be your jack-of-all-trades, and have zero desire to be. If you already have a trusted network of providers, I can perfectly help you manage all those relationships to your benefit.

I will ask all the difficult questions, translate weird tech jargon to plain English (and Spanish if you need to) and make sure your investments are definitely being maximized.

IT Documentation And Reporting

Once everything is stabilized and working, it is important to keep it that way – and IT Managed Services is the response to that need. Proactive maintenance, predictable IT expenditure and access to quick and reliable support are the pillars to my Managed Services proposal.

Google Workspace Specialist

Online collaboration has never been easier. Having an email service that just works and is secure, reliable and affordable and applications that help you share work with your colleagues are a must for businesses no matter their size.

I have been implementing Google Workspace solutions since its release, and not a single one of my clients regrets the move… it just works!

IPSC Technology Backbone

My biggest (and ongoing) technology engagement to date. I serve as IT Director in charge of all the technology infrastructure (web, email, administration, communications) working along a fantastic team of programmers, designers, communicators and support staff.

The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) is a global sporting organization with presence in 106 countries and 350,000+ active members, dedicated to promoting and developing the sport of competitive practical shooting.

I love consulting for IPSC, its President and Executive Council. Some of my duties are:

  • Manage and oversee all IT, media, and communications for the Confederation

  • Creation and maintenance of all Privacy Policies, Terms of Use and Compliance with international regulations (GDPR, CASL, etc.)

  • Overhauled the entire email system from POP to Google Workspace

  • Administer IT procurement projects: vendor selection, bidding process, contract review and final deliverables

  • Implement and control system procedures and protocols to deliver IT services for local and remote users

  • Plan, deliver, and maintain cybersecurity policies for local and remote users

  • Introduced and deployed cloud collaboration tools (Dropbox, Microsoft 365, and Google Drive)

  • Implement and secure web projects

  • Manage the IPSC mobile app (Apple and Android)

  • Lead web system overhaul project and cloud services migration to Rackspace Clouds Servers

One Of My Favourite Verticals: Auto Services

For more than a decade now, I have been working with local Auto Services in the Greater Toronto West Area. These family-owned businesses invest a ton in technology and training for their staff, and they have become one of the coolest and most appreaciative markets I have an immense pleasure to work for.

  • Networking and Cybersecurity Audits and Compliance
  • Email and online collaboration tools using Google Workspace
  • Implementation and support of Auto Services management software like Protractor and Lankar
  • Consulting on best practices for social media and client engagement (my wife is a Master Digital Marketer so I have learned a lot from her!)
  • Disaster recovery and redundancy strategies to keep the shops running in case of internet/phone/power outages
  • Integrate mobile devices (phones and tablets) with the tools your technicias use daily
  • Hardware and software consulting and procurement: auto shops are rough environments (lots of power tools, dust, grease and metal) and off-the-shelf equipment is not always the right solution
