Windows 11 will be announced this June 24, 2021, 11 am EST. Many tech pundits and reviewers have checked the leaked screenshots (as seen above) and I personally can’t wait for not caring a bit about this.

It is a well know practice in the IT pro community to never, ever, ever upgrade to the latest operating system at launch date, especially production systems. For small solopreneurs like myself (although I have two other laptops), I never install major upgrades right away unless they are important security patches.

How this latest version affects you? Not in an important way for now, since it is expected that Microsoft implements free upgrading from Windows 10 to 11 as it did with Windows 7 to 10. My advice is to wait few weeks (or months) since Windows 10 End of Life (EOL) is scheduled for October 14th, 2025.

In addition, there are many rumors in relation to the MacOS-esque look and feel from the leaked screenshots. Again, at this point there is a lot of speculation, and I am sure we will get the whole shebang at launch date.
